Vibrational Spectroscopy for Plant Varieties and Cultivars Characterization, Volume 80, provides an overview on the application of vibrational spectroscopy to characterize plant cultivars and varieties. It covers a variety of aspects, including the potential of this technique for taxonomic purposes (species and cultivars/varieties identification), how to discriminate plants according to their ages and geographic regions, how to depict soil properties through plant characteristics, etc. Currently, most of these studies are performed through somewhat laborious techniques. This book presents reliable alternatives to such techniques, while also systematizing information concerning the application of vibration spectroscopy in this context.

  • Guides academics through the application of vibrational spectroscopy
  • Presents a valuable source of information for plant producers

1. Chapter One: Introduction and New Trends - p. xiv 2. Chapter Two: Biospectroscopy for Plant and Crop Science - p. 13 3. Chapter Three: Vibrational Spectroscopy Methods for Agro-Food Product Analysis - p. 49 4. Chapter Four: Chemometrics Applied to Plant Spectral Analysis - p. 68 5. Chapter Five: Classification and Authentication of Plants by Chemometric Analysis of Spectral Data - p. 104 6. Chapter Six: Variety Discrimination of Fruits, Edible Plants, and Other Foodstuffs and Beverages by Infrared Spectroscopy - p. 125 7. Chapter Seven: Application of Chemometric Methods Coupled With Vibrational Spectroscopy for the Discrimination of Plant Cultivars and to Predict Physicochemical Properties Using R - p. 163 8. Chapter Eight: Disease Identification: A Review of Vibrational Spectroscopy Applications - p. 194 9. Chapter Nine: Plant Disease Monitoring With Vibrational Spectroscopy - p. 225 10. Chapter Ten: In Situ Visible and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Applied to Vineyards as a Tool for Precision Viticulture - p. 251 11. Chapter Eleven: Hyperspectral Analysis for Plant Characterization and Discrimination - p. 279 12. Index - p. 291
